This interview heals. It's beautiful to being able to listen to someone calmly. And to see someone who is not rushed and who's speaking from their soul.

I love that she gives such deep consideration to each question, rather than spout out some cliche answer for the sake of getting through the interview.

the way she speaks it reminds me of one of those archive interviews from the 70s etc

"The river never disappears." Thats so true and beautiful. Art is a decision to listen to whats inside of you. Nothing more or less than that.

Its beautiful how Adrianne takes moments to literally let things sink in. To close your eyes and take a moment for yourself to let something resonate, or to collect your thoughts and feelings before speaking. Need to do some more of that <3

it is beautifully haunting how some of the statements she made gave me the same deep-rooted chills i get when listening to live versions of her(and the band's) music... her soul and voice are like a vessel, connecting things from deep within. this whole interview made so much sense, created so much peace within me.

the point she was making about how, if I understood correctly, art is making the intangible tangible, is so perfect.

I think Adrianne Lenker is one of the best songwriters of our time.
This is the first time I’ve seen an interview with her.. and I resonate with everything so hard. As a songwriter on the edge of deciding if I want to make my craft/my creative medium my career, I fear the connection I have to my soul will be compromised. The fear holds me back.. but i still want to share.
Thank you Adrianne for articulating and sharing your thoughts.

Seriously, Adrianne's hair grows like crazy, one day she's shaved the next she's wearing a ponytail.

She is such an interesting person; from her thoughts, her creativity, even her appearance. She's very beautiful, but not in the classical sense. I find her so intriguing! I absolutely love the song "Paul" and "Masterpiece".

This is the most genuine, thoughtful and interesting music-related interview I have ever seen.

“Cause I'd rather be lonely
And cold and awake
Than asleep in a warm and a comfortable place” from her song disappear really resonated with what she said at 13:30 ish

The first Big Thief song I ever heard was Shark Smile.. It was like 3am, was leaving work and heading back home listening to Sirius XMU. I was immediately all in, best new band I had heard for at least 2-3 years. Lyrics had me full out sobbing. Did a deep dive into their catalog/live performances on youtube and fell head over heels in love with them. Adrianne Lenker is honest to god one of the most brilliant and talented songwriters alive today, she's truly one of very few. So glad they're being recognized for how good they are.

There's a childhood halo in everything she speaks. Childhood can be confusing for some folks. It reminds me of Maria Elena Walsh's words "Everyone's homeland is childhood". She is great.

I love her so so much. We have tons of amazing female musicians and always have, even when it wasn’t the norm. But we need more who are considered among the all time greats(that is more a problem w the fans/critics than them themselves). But I feel she is a legitimate Leonard Cohen, bob dylan, etc level of talent. She moves me like no other. I borderline worship this gal

This interviewer is really good, both his interviews with Aldous Harding and with Adrienne have been very calm and patient. obviously they are both amazing but its nice to see an interviewer who gives that space
