I noticed that many LG OLED buyers have one of these problems (the TV no longer turns on, the red LED light no longer lights on), and in some cases, the appearance of black dots on the upper and lower edges of the OLED panel. The power board fails, the processing part (main board) fails (due to a processor that is not properly cooled)... I experienced these problems too ( I have a 65CX model) - some during warranty, others almost immediately after the warranty period expired.
It's not normal for a failure rate to be so high for such an expensive TV after one to three years of use.
A class action lawsuit should be filed to force LG to acknowledge their major quality problems and fix them at their own expense.

My CX 65 inch OLED did the same this morning. No power. Reddit and YouTube seem to be full of CX failures at the 3 year mark. Let's hope LG does something about it.

Are you not fixing sent in mainboards anymore Nick? My 4 yr old LG OLED55CXPAU is having this same issue. Took the board out and there is no discoloration on the back but its doing the same. Started with screen freeze, color saturation then shutdown. 4:29

I believe this model of TV was recalled in other countries for overheating. Just not yet recalled in the USA. My 55' CX had the same problem and it was a defective dried up and crusty thermal pad, between the CPU and vapor chamber, that was the point of failure. 'Causing an overheating shutdown.

That thermal pad is really tall, where did you get it? Can't find it.

I have the same issue and I got a new motherboard as a replacement, I saw the ceramic thermal pad that you put behind the processor and I wanted to buy it but couldn’t find the same thickness after I did some research. May you share where could I get the same thickness as the one in the video.

Thank you for the video! Is there any concern with the thermal pad on the back of the main board conducting heat into the OLED panel itself and damaging it with a hotspot? I'm not sure how close the frame behind the mainboard is to the panel.

I have a skyworth 65xc9300 android TV, it comes on and you can hear sound but no video, one day the TV started working fine and worked for 2 days and started back do ING the same thing, could it be the same problem you just showed in your video?

On the vapor chamber. How did you remove the blue plastic parts supported by a spring? First time messing around with a tv but I have tinkered with pcs in the past. I have just never seen those blue plastic pieces so I can lift the chamber and apply a fresh set of thermal paste.

July 18, 2024 - I suspect that a three year old😲 LG 55" OLED TV is starting have "issues" 😠. Mainly starting to flash a split second pink band across the screen. I was searching for possible causes of this issue when I came across this video. While it doesn't address my particular problem. It is an interesting and informative video over all. It was very helpful seeing an OLED TV opened up and how the TV was fixed. 👍👍🙂
