Well, that's 5 out of my 9 kids, my now brother and now sister-in-law. Why I didn't know anything about this stance as a kid, a young mom, etc, Idk. My mother is Apache and my father's side has 3 different indigenous branches in the US and South America. It's fairly acceptable in my family to be trans and we have an extensive history of lgbtq relatives. And to think WE are the "chosen people" in this faith and we are being pushed out even worse. My patriarchal blessings has my family as members of the most coveted branch. This is a full on slap in the face and an absolute joke.

I have been socially transitioned as a nonbinary person for 4 years now, yet my parents still BEG me constantly to come back to church. Why tf would I want to come to a place that treats me as a child predator and a pariah. The worst part is my father has been a closeted trans woman his whole life (note: he insists on he/him pronouns still, despite his private identity) and yet he is STILL clinging to the church as if it won’t continue ruining his own life and the lives of his queer children and family members (of which there are many!!)

Agree. Also, there are genetic and physical reasons people identify as trans. It is not just a choice. And last I checked, it's clergy that has the highest rate of SA of children.

My father is native american and he told me the mormon church wouldn't allow him to become a member because he wasn't white. This was back in the 70-s

On the other hand, my mormon family in the USA are trying to get information from all of my dead relatives in Mexico, in order to baptize them under their cult 😂

They can't consent no longer but that's ok, apparently, they talked to them in their dreams. I wonder if they suffer from schizophrenia 🤔

As a mother, no matter my religious beliefs, if this came down the line from a church authority, I would leave that church. I’m not going to participate in any church that doesn’t welcome all, and would be leading my family by example.

I’m a transgender woman who at one time a high priest group leader and an Ogden temple worker and trainer In Syracuse Utah. I was excommunicated and had a very hard time with the church because I chose what I’ve done with my life
