I like the modern slip joint idea but the price is absolutely ridiculous!

Slipjoints seem to be the thing of the moment. Every known modern folders maker is issuing a SJ. However, not all of them is successful in making something good and beautiful. The Prosper, from Benchmade, is an ugly slipjoint. Now, this ZT slipjoint, on the contrary, succeeded in keeping with ZT's usual modern design (it is Anso's) while being and excellent SJ. I have both -- the Prosper and the ZT030 -- and can tell you, by direct evaluation, the ZT beats the Prosper no doubt. Another traditional folders maker that has put out some good SJs is Spyderco (I have a vey nice, and excellent Pingo); but not brecause SJs are a fad now -- Spyderco move was tied to aim at the European market, which progibits folders that are one-handed opened... In conclusion, , if one wants to purchase a really exellent "modern" slipjoint that is as beautiful as the traditional ones (such as GECs), I recommend checking out the ones made by Lionsteel.

Traditional? slipjoint? $180? Not likely.

It’s hard to use the word traditional when it has no features of a traditional. There’s no backspring, bolsters or anything traditional. When I think of modern traditional, I think of Lionsteel. They use titanium bolsters, backsprings, covers, they’re screwed instead of pinned, etc. Maybe you could argue it resembles a small sodbuster. It’s a nice knife, just not traditional in any way. Maybe should be called “modern, non-locking” Just my 2 cents!
