It's so rare that a video product comparison actually covers ALL the details I'm looking for. Thanks!

I’m just seeing this now and love your review. New sub now! I have PTSD and my psychologist suggested the MUSE for me. She personally uses one. My mom got me the Muse2 for Christmas and just in a month I’ve noticed such a positive change in my anxiety level and being able to actually use less medication for panic attacks. I didn’t think there was anything that could help.

I use my Muse for Anger Management along with seeing a professional therapist. I real like it and gives me a way of gauging my mediations

I've really been getting into EEG/VR and have been wondering which headset I wanted to pick up. This video comes at the perfect time.

Great video. Love the channel.

Cody...
I'll make this short for now...
My mom had a stroke in 2005...
The day my wife and I got back from our honeymoon...
Because I'm a nerd and we were just opening a computer shop..
I really wanted to develope something for my mom...and began...but between our business, helping with mom, and many other things...I never could build and develop what I talked about all the time...

Do you have 20 mins to chat sometime personally to give me a current overview on some questions I have for hardware and to maybe even give me your thoughts on my overall ideas?
You can call, email, text me..

If not, I understand.
Cheers.
J

Really liked this video! We've had multiple BCI projects at University of Florida, and for the most part we used Emotiv's Insight. I personally preferred using the Muse for its sleek design, ease of use and very little discomfort; but their developer and research tools took a lot of time to support their 2016 headset. Muse I/O is still unsupported for the 2016 headset. That really limits the capability of using an OSC with something like OpenVibe for the 2016 headset. Of course, there are 3rd party solutions available to this, but that says a lot about the company itself when they launch a new version of their headset without developer support for 2+ years after the launch.

great channel, thanks!
there is also Focus device, which is a bit more expensive, but also seems interesting.. I personally used MindWave for some time and it's not so good for sure.. now plan to get Muse

Are there any conflicts of interest here? Are you doing research using Muse or on behalf of Muse? I mean this earnestly :)

EMOTIV has zero customer service - I have called over 10 times and emailed many times and have never gotten a return call or email.

I have really bad experiences with emotiv, had lots of problems with their flimsy (but expensive) epoc, and their support is terrible. Now trying the mindwave mobile 2 and so far it is working well.

Hi Cody! Im new here, but I was looking for some info go buy an EEG device and I found your videos. Really good, well explained material. I just want to ask you one question: nowadays, some time after you uploaded this video in 2018, do you still think the same and would these advices be the same to buy an affordable EEG device in 2020 with artistic and audiovisual purposes? Hope you have time to answer, your opinion looks unvaluable on this field. Thank you very much, and subscribed!

Hi! I have a question. Do you know any device that tells you in which brain wave you are, like alpha, delta, theta, gamma waves? Please could you recommend me any? Thank you ✨

Just so anyone watching in 2021 and beyond knows, he has much more up-to-date videos than this if you look at his channel.

I recently attended a training session where the myemotiv headset and app were demonstrated. I particularly liked the real time brain activity display (not just brainwave traces). That was cool. Myemotiv seem to be the only app with this visual.
