What is Harpies in the Trees?
Hi, I'm Mers and I used to be an avid reader, but life got in the way so I stopped reading for a very long time but decided to change that in Dec of 2018 and I want to share what I'm reading and discovering on my journey back into the wonderful world of books.

Horror fiction is my favorite genre, especially the classic ghost story and supernatural stuff, but I will have other types of horror genres in here as well. I will be doing book reviews, book hauls, book crate unboxings, creative projects inspired by books, checking out street libraries, short films, exploring cemeteries here in Berlin and more!

The idea of a little person riding around on the shoulder of HHH while he slides a body down the chute is now a hilarious and morbid cartoon in my mind! Yikes! I had skipped The Devil in White City too but Depraved still sounds perfect to me as well. That was a wonderful tag and I only hope someday I could visit Germany at all, let alone Berlin and see these books in the wild - even if I could not read them. The Abominable Book Club sure is the best idea for used books in a subscription box so I am glad you found them! Really loved hearing your answers to this and seeing the lovely tomes :)

I'm so glad you did the tag, it was great to hear your answers :) I totally hear you on having to get rid of possessions when moving...there are things I got rid of that I still sorely regret years later! On the other hand there are things I have no idea why I kept lol. Awesome video, as always!

I buy secondhand books but I always check the spine for bedbugs...can't be too careful!

I’ve actually been itching to go to charity shops (the U.K. equivalent of thrift stores) and finding some cool vintage books. Unfortunately I don’t have much space in my room so I’m more of a Kindle reader then a physical reader. But recently I’ve gotten interested in the idea of finding a vintage book with a beautiful cover and lovely pictures within. I also enjoy journaling so the idea of taking pages I like and putting them in my journal so that I can always look at them whenever I want sounds really nice as well.

I buy secondhand books from thriftbooks dot com all the time, I’m fairly sure they ship internationally and they have a huge selection. Many of their books are ex-library copies so they feel sturdy and even their lower condition books are still really good quality. Some of my good and like new books seem as though no one has ever opened the cover.
