What role did this ancient fermented beverage play in the development of human civilization?

10,000 years ago, in ancient Sumer and Mesopotamia, gatherers discovered, probably quite by accident, that barley left in a container in the rain for a few days would begin to ferment into alcohol – and beer was born. The desire for more beer is the likely motivation for the domestication of barley and the end of hunter-gathering.

Holy Smokes that was way, way cool...almost as good as you turning me on to Laurence Gardner's work as I've almost completed "The Orgin of God"...I am so, so grateful for your work, many thanks. This evening I will drink my Sierra Nevada handcrafted Pale Ale in your honor 🤗

Omgoodness! 😁🤣🤣🤣🤣 from ancient MYTHOLOGY to the 21st century! The whole world is drunk! 6.2 BILLIONS GALLONS A YEAR? On a serious note.... alcohol can still be used medicinally today. I living proof👍I'm wondering what the Anunnaku used for their "elixir of enlightenment" lol Thanks Cronus I got a giggle outta this one. 💖
