Ah yes, Austria 2019. Where Magnussen infamously qualified 5th and finished 19th on pure pace.

What on earth was happening with that Haas

Ah yes, the Haas VF-19

Famous for being a decent qualifying car but a terrible race car because it had a quick look at the tires in the pits and decided it wanted literally all of them.

I got to give credit where credit is do. I love that F1 stops comparing the 2 fastest but also compare cars further down the grid.

Seems that grosjean wouldve actually been within a tenth if he didnt make that one mistake in the middle sector. also 1:13 made it sound like grosjean got it wrong but because he didnt touch the curb he was able to settle the car faster and actually gained a tenth on exit.

How Magnussen went from p5 in quali to p19 in the race, I’ll never know how

Austria is an very fast track For a driver like Magnussen, The two final corners are very sharp, Can't wait for Magnussen to outqualify his latest position from 2019!

Magnussen did a madness to qualify P5 in the race... And then ended up P19 in the race. Hopefully this year he'll get a top 10 finish at Austria

That Haas wasn't slow at all. Qualify pace shows it. The problem was with the tyres during the race. They overheated a LOT and made the pace=0

The true great lap from Magnussen is the lap that got him into P5 in a car that have no right to be there

Someone may have written it already, but the reason why Kevin ended up in P19 was that the car was fast but overheated its tyres really quickly. Both drivers had to lift and coast within the first five laps of the race. Also Kevin started P10 because they changed his gearbox after some issues.

Thank you that was an awesome breakdown

Man I do miss Grosjean. Both of these guys are great. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and hold nothing back on the racetrack. And yes Grosjean delivered so many memorable slip-ups
