New Alternative Science Fiction/Double Feature (Hi-Def Version)

The new alternative Science Fiction/Double Feature as originally scripted for "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", but later dropped as being too expensive to purchase rights to use all the clips from various studios. I received so many requests for a high-definition version that I decided to rebuild it with new titles, clips and special effects. Most of the original clips were shot in 3:4 aspect ratio, so I decided to reformat them in 16:9 to keep everything in perspective. The credits type case was borrowed from the artwork of the original soundtrack album cover by John Pasche with the marquee lettering and painstakingly re-created and animated. The new clips add some fun audience participation ideas too. I have made several versions of the alternative Science Fiction/Double Feature over the years, but this one is my favorite. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it looks. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

They were originally going to use this for the movie. However all those clips that were referenced were copyrighted and the crew would have to pay

This is fantastic! I have always dreamed of what could have been, but you have made it reality and with oh so much style! I agree this would make an unforgettable Easter egg for a future dvd release - esp if they used it for a B&W "original concept" then dropping the color in when a Franks lips appear on the elevator as the script said! Absolutely wild and untamed, and now I don't have to dream it, I can SEE it all thanks to you you Sweet Youtubite! ;-)

I just remembered I had a Rocky Horror record album when I was a wild and untamed young thing and the cover had “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” partially done up in the same “lightbulbs around a stage performer’s mirror” font that this video uses for the titles!!! Amazing attention to detail, and I can’t believe I just remembered that! Absolutely love this, more and more every time I watch it. The Lips are iconic but I wonder if this original opening would have set the tone and had more people enjoy the 50’s Sci Fi movie elements rather than freak out at the various taboo subjects that were not only included but performed in stilettos in up on the stage in spotlights! LOL, I always had immense enjoyment of so-called conservative and forthright people getting shocked by things as it usually signaled they had some repressed fascination for whichever subject they would condemn the most vehemently. Still holds true to this day in fact! Great video!!!

It's really good, just like to see some cartoon style cuts between scenes, and the credits less perfect, more like an old sci-fi film. It's the best one so far.

@CrazyAboutSims2 ... it's a custom-made font that I created based on the original record album. I guess it would be called "marquee". It took me a week to put it all together and animate it.
