I've had my Nintendo Switch for years now and I have not had any issues when it comes to stick drift when it comes my joy-cons and my pro controllers. Even though it's called a "Pro Controller", it's actually just a standard gamepad for Gamers who feel that the joy-con dock is not enough and require something more substantial and ergonomic to grip onto. Like you said, the pro controller is made for games that don't necessarily use motion controls. It's not an actual Pro Controller like the DualSense Edge or the XBox Elite. For a standard gamepad, the Nintendo Switch controller does its job very well. Perhaps, Nintendo will make improvements to it as the Switch 2 comes out.
