Oil pots can also be used to get Alexander out of the hole overlooking Jarburg. It’s an encounter you can trigger if you’ve already defeated Radahn and haven’t been in the area, and it’s pretty much all I use oil pots for.

With the right setup, the Oil-Soaked Tear is no joke. It turned the first phase of pre-patch Consort Radahn into a much easier fight for me.

the oil tear is most useful for fire-melee builds in particular, just because catch flame isn't broken enough as is

Using the spell that turns me into flames and the oil makes me a raging fire that lowers every enemies defense drastically. Tho you gradually lose health faster.
