Why let B = 0? What does this add to the description of a plane wave? I ask because I keep seeing this form in my studies. Thanks for the video!

So how do you arbitraly set B = 0 you never explained that? There is a lot of background you didnt cover in the wave equation that was not covered in you previous lectures in quantum mechanics. I am watching them all in sequence.

I have a question. Before in your videos, you defined E to be an unknown function when you derived the equation with E. But in this lecture, E is defined as the Energy. Is this just a given, or is there a way to prove this?
