At the Ghazni Court of Appeal in eastern Afghanistan, an old man sentenced to death for murder pleads for his life. The 75-year-old admits to having killed a relative. Under the strict interpretation of Islamic sharia law ordered by the Taliban's supreme leader, he faces public execution -- with the sentence carried out by a relative of his victim. AFP had rare access to a court in Ghazni to see how sharia justice is being administered since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021.

Its not a strict system. Its a fair system. Ask the relatives of the wronged if it is strict.

Finally, a justice system that actually lives up to the world justice. Where I live, it's not what is right, but what you can prove. Shameful.

Why extreme Sharia laws? Should it be the justice system like the West where rapists and murderers get bailed because of the corrupt system?

Eye for an eye should be the law.
The moral high ground of forgiving should be the exclusive right of the aggrieved party, no president or prime minister or king should have right to pardon a criminal

Media try to portrait them as barbaric 😂. But, listen to what they’ve said.
Look at them. They’re so serious to uphold the justice as best as they can, through the guidance and the wisdom of the one true God

If you honestly and mercifully apply laws of Quran no other or secular system is of any consideration.

Why there are questions against Islamic Shariya laws?? Same laws are in Tora and Bible. Punishment is necessary to keep the society in order. Take an example of Pakistan where there is no punishment, no justice and therefore rate of corruption is the highest.

In America we have been taught to see the Taliban as heartless wild eyed fanatics, but I just see people with a different world view. Their is good and bad in any system.
