RPG Maker MV Tutorial: Beginner's Guide! Switches & Variables!

The thought of game-making fills you with determination.
I've been asked a few times to explain some basic eventing, so first off we have Switches, Self Switches and Variables!

I've always wanted to know how to use variables, but with each try I became more confused than the previous one, this actually shed a lot of light on my RPG Maker knowledge. Thank you!

Another thing to remember is that variables can be used for items. Like for instance the number of bombs, arrors, or keys you have to a dungeon. Or a specific key for a specific door like a boss door.

Great tutorial. =) I've seen some crazy work done with specific uses of variables and switches. It can get complicated.

I enjoyed watching the videos I've viewed so far, your tutorials have helped me out on learning more about MV. I only got to use Xp & Vx every once in a while years ago, but didn't really get the hang of them at the time. I'm glad I found this tutorial when I struggled creating the self switch dialogues, it corrected the small error I was making with the event editor.

I have two things to say about this video:

1) As someone who used to make youtube videos, I can definitely see the hard work, dedication, and skill that you put into this. Props to you for it! :)
2) As someone is trying to figure out RPG Maker, your style is very helpful. It's quick paced, which can be a little challenging for someone as inexperienced as me, but it highlights things I can research in more depth, via the manual and more of your videos, without missing the general gist of what the video is about. I'm coming away from it with a better understanding of how certain aspects of the software work, while recognizing there is still more I can learn, which is a great balance.

All in all, great video! You got my subscription! :)

I LOVED this tutorial. It was super helpful, it was funny and everything was going straight to the point, plus, you fast-forwarded the repetitive processes.
