Hazbin Hotel Mythbusters Part 3: Does Lucifer have Autism or ADHD?

Recently fans have been theorising that lucifer has autism or adhd. Let’s discuss the evidence.

Firstly there’s the whole thing of him being seen as a troublemaker for thinking differently and having unique dreams and ideas

His special interest is ducks. He has a huge collection of them, and even has his profile picture on his phone set to one.

He often thinks out loud while alone as well as practicing what hes going to say to Charlie before answering the phone

He constantly zones out and forgets what's going on

him doing things while on the phone because of his hyperactivity

he talks and does things without a filter and cant really hide his emotions very well. He also struggles to read the room

Overall there’s no way to know for sure if lucifer has autism or adhd unless it’s officially confirmed, which it hasn’t been yet. He definitely has a few traits, but we won’t know for sure unless vivzie or someone from the team confirms it as canon. Nonetheless i do think lucifer is a great character and it’s nice to see so many people empathize with him.

His love for ducks actually comes from him showing Charlie as a kid a duck and she liked it, its most likely one of the only things he has left of her
But hes definitely both

As Someone with both adhd and autism, I think (if it’s canon) Lucifer is a great example of both of these traits without it being a “disability” to him. It emphasises his personality and I think it’s great to see someone who has these traits but It isn’t a sob story in the show

I feel like what happened was when he was rejected by Heaven, it broke him. And when Lilith kept Charlie away from him it broke him more. You can see how sad he is in that flashback when Lilith takes Charlie away from him.

I think he is a man who has been beaten down so much that he just sort of expects it. He never reached out to Charlie because he didn't think she'd want to hear from him, and was legitimately surprised and happy when she called him, indicating she wanted to talk.

I think we may see some hope for him in season 2, as he sings to Charlie in the finale about how she changed his mind and managed to be the first change in 10, 000 years.

As someone with both ADHD and Autism, I can confirm that Lucifer is the most relatable person in Hazbin Hotel (for me at least)
