Loona has a Moon Tattoo in her Human Form in Helluva Boss

Sometimes official merch reveals fun or hidden details about the characters. I’ve covered these previously, like with charlie and alastor’s hooves in hazbin hotel.

The latest example has to do with loona. In loona’s demon form she wears her signature shorts with the crescent moon on the side.

In the latest merch drop, we see human loona in a swimsuit and she has the crescent moon symbol on her leg as a tattoo.

This is the first time we’ve seen this, and it wasn’t present in previous helluva boss episodes or merch.

Since this reveal, fans have been debating over whether it’s a retcon, or just a temporary tattoo. Personally i think loona just has the ability to magically change her appearance whenever she wants. You could also theorise that
Perhaps loona gets this tattoo during a future helluva short.

The artwork for the merch are done by commissioned artists (freelancers) from the internet. Although approved by Spindlehorse, a lot of them take artistic liberties. For example, Charlie was shown with human feet instead of hooves on some merch before the first Hazbin Hotel Prime episode.

I love how Hazbin Hotel as easter eggs for very old genres, like Adam's black and white silhouette in Hell is Forever based on some popular video. I'm thinking in season 2, Lucifer could do the floss because he isn't caught up on the popular trends. And Nifty could hold balloons and fly in the air with music in the background like the meme with the dog tied to balloons.

Fun fact: Henrietta gets the same Tattoo Loona does when she's older. It shows that Loona was there for her and Iris when Harbingers started as she babysat for both of them and she got paid well in doing so. Aldus got paid a good bit of money after each successful assassination. Though got paid insanely well after the overlords got killed and paid everyone involved 6 ways and when Loona decided to not babysit anymore Lita when she was on maternity leave decided to babysit until she came back to active duty. She brought her husband Buster over to help out. He was gentle with the pups though they were really hesitant at first.

It's a disguise, not her real form, so it makes sense that she should be able to customize it to at least some degree.
