Pause? Really? Like the difference between 4.75% and 5% is going to cause a banking collapse? We need to send a message, no more cheap money. NO PAUSE. No cuts. No more juicing the market and giving VC good money after bad.

This entire time normal people have been suffering... its fine. Now the banks are in trouble, all of a sudden... we've got to do something! Everyday they illustrate how little they care about us so long as it isnt affecting them.

Just pause. Just bail out the banks and all these lenders that handed out 2% mortgages and bought 2% treasuries in an environment that they knew would be inflationary to come afterwards. These PEOPLE MAKE ME

Fed has to raise interest rates to offset the printing of bailout money. If the Fed pauses interest rate hikes, inflation will come back again. Then the Fed will have to hike rates again more than anticipated to levels of 10% like the 1970s. It is better for the Fed to raise rates and let the market crash temporarily and let the price gouging businesses close down. It will be less pain than pausing and having to do the process over again. 😮😮😮

The Fed should raise rates by 50 BP. We let off early in the 80s and CPI shot back up. A recession is needed to break inflation in a definitive manner.

Core CPI is 0.5% , expected 0.4%, dont lie to people!!! Core CPI increased in February

Economic crisis are created not because people don't know what to do, but because they know what to do but something else comes along and apparently justifies not doing so. Rates need to rise to control inflation, reward savers and deter speculative risk takers. Nonetheless, the argument is now being pushed that rates don't need to rise because it will impact those who already took speculative risk. The path of least resistance is rarely the path we should take. We deal with a big crisis now or an much bigger one in a couple of years. Remember 2008.

Used car prices again are the benchmark to not raise rates when the cpi is now at 6% and that's not worse than expected its on target.... Sorry forget food, energy and anything else we need to live and core is only 5.5%. Please Please Fed pause rates!

This is all new to everyone but I remember this from 1975. The Fed wants to let interest rates run higher. How will you work with higher inflation?

Its hardly been 12 months since the first hike and the hikes work with a 12-18 months lag. Fed must pause and wait. Inflation is coming down hard given where rates are today. If they push more QT and rate hikes they will blow up the system.
