For us newbies, would be nice if you explain how to tie that knot on the carabiner.

Thanks Ryan for your great videos. I have several questions: (1) could this 4:1 be rigged using 2 single-sheave pulleys instead a double-sheave pulley at the anchor? (2) if so, could this modified 4:1 be converted to a 12:1 by attaching a single-sheave pulley the haul-strand with a prusik? and (3) if so, would it be useful to anchor this 3:1 subsystem to a more distant point? Thanks.

Is it necessary to put the 90 degree twist in it?

I have a 4:1 pulley that I’m trying to use to climb my mast. Basically use the spinnaker halyard to haul the top pulley up the mast. Then use the bottom pulley to haul me in my harness up the mast. Yes? Trying to follow but you are assuming a level of knowledge that I don’t have. You need to slow it way down and show things in detail, like I’m a five year old.

I really appreciate this mechanical advantage series you have put together great info. Who makes the pulleys you are using in these videos?

Why is this demonstration rigged to disadvantage. Seems like a waste of energy.
