I love that the "I'd have done it in July" is an actual joke said by Jeff Skiles.

I love that Sully points out how the copilot was actually right there through all the distraction- it takes a lot of professionalism and brass to calmly follow procedure while the world around you goes to hell.

Capt Sullenberger is amazing. He never hogged all the glory for himself. He shared credit with his crew, ATC, the ferryboat captains and crew and the "scuba cops". If there would have been casualties, I'm sure he would have taken all the blame. That is the mark of a true leader. The world needs more people like that.

My nephew was on that flight. Obviously my entire family is very grateful to Captain Sullenberger, First Officer Skiles, the flight attendants, and all of the Hudson heroes that worked so hard to get the all of the passengers to safety. It really was a miracle.

for any one that is interested in aviation this story is one of the most incredible landings any one has ever pulled off. he could have crashed in the middle of he city multiplying casualties in to hundreds if not thousands. remarkable pilot and a true hero.

The words "we did our job" always gets me. It's simple yet so powerful.

Can we all take a moment to recognize how epic Aaron Eckhart's mustache is in this film?

My father and I (both commercial pilots) were relaxing in his living room that morning when the networks cut scheduled broadcasts to the landing on the Hudson. Needless to say, we watched the recovery as many Americans did, with absolute amazement and admiration of the air crew and rescue efforts. When it was announced that all souls were alive, well and accounted for....we just shook our heads looked at each other like "are you shitting me?"
Great film by the way.

One of the happiest Clint Eastwood's movies, no one dies, and everyone smiling in the end.

As a flight attendant, the actors captured the mannerisms of a typical pilot perfectly.

I love the line, “it wasn’t just me, it was the the flight crew, and all the passengers, everybody had a part to play.”

One thing that seems to stand out to me is the coordination of the stewards in the cabin. The moment they heard brace, they went into action and started the chant of "Brace, Brace, Brace, Head down, Stay down!" And kept it up until moment of impact. Then immediately went into evacuation mode. This was in fact a perfectly coordinated effort that saved lives. Captain Sully said it best. "We all did our jobs".

“We did our job.” Smh at the dudes who had the nerve to say otherwise.

After the captain makes the call to brace for impact, you can hear the flight attendants in the cabin reciting 'Brace, brace, brace! Heads down! Stay down!'. It's very quiet and subtle. Brilliantly adds to the understanding of the tension the flight crew must feel. They are doing what they are supposed to which is throwing everything they can at the problem which is very mechanical, but this subtle audio is a constant subliminal reminder of the lives in the back. A brilliant nuance in the scene.

One of my favorite parts of the real event was sully apologizing to his local library be the book he had checked out was left on the plane. They waved the late fee.
