I left school on Friday started work on Monday, 49 years later i had to retire on medical grounds. Because I had my Merchant Navy Officers pension i had money deducted from my sickness payment.
And the Government Pension is NOT a BENEFIT i paid for it, the £12600 tax free needs to rise or in a couple of years pensioners who have a private pension they also paid for will pay tax on 100% of it.

I always appreciate hearing Clive Moffatt on energy and how to store it and have it. Thank you for having him on regularly. Resolution can't be political anywhere in the world. Here, in CA, the governor's office announces (on a cold day) through alerts from Office of Energy Services to please turn off excess power from "tonight to the morning, " so it doesn't have to initiate a rolling blackout for whatever reason. We do, and they give the stats later; how much energy saved and how it came to be there was no rolling blackout. My point: there are layers to these types of solutions, with the people actively engaged at critical moments, and use of resources is meted out in some less drastic way than flicking an on/off switch. It must be topographical, resource conservation for appropriate regions, and utilization by the customers in an active role on any occasion.
