New Milwaukee M18 FUEL AIR COMPRESSOR IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! In this video we show the #verycoolgang what too expect when unboxing and using the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2 gallon air compressor (2840-20). This new FUEL air compressor from Milwaukee is not what I expected from them because they are moving too a completely cordless jobsite, and that included air compressor hoses. Let me know what your thoughts and experiences are with the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2 gallon air compressor in the comments section below and if this make sense too you considering they always state that they're moving too a completely cordless job site.

I would like it to have an extension cord connection so it can be plugged in if you want and it could charge the battery as well i mean why not right??

I’m a tree guy and my bucket truck doesn’t have air brakes, just hydraulic. Therefore I have nothing to tap for air to clean chainsaws on the job and even myself before I get back in my truck with all that sawdust all over me. This little thing sits right in my toolbox on the truck and now I have air. Unbelievably handy. I recommend 10/10 for anyone in my shoes!

The "drain the tank to change outlet pressure" concept seems like a good way to suck a battery dry without doing any actual work.

I have this compressor and you don't need to empty the air tank to change the pressure setting. All you need to do is reduce the pressure at the outlet. This can be done with a blowgun or a tool that requires a steady stream of air to work like an impact or air ratchet. Just trigger the tool. A nail gun will not relieve the pressure since it consumes air in short bursts, so if you do need to change pressures in the middle of a job with a nailer, just hook up an air gun.

Man, this guy is so funny but at the same time all about business. Love it.

Ill wait for the gen 2.. hopefully it'll come with a dual battery / corded option.

It's quiet. Not on the platform and would be doubtful if it would fit my needs but was a good look at it. Thanks for the vid.

youre a braver and more experienced man than i am, cause id never put my hand on the other end of a piece of thin wood and shoot nails in said material towards said hand. Too easy for a knot or poor angle to make that nail travel through in a way i dont want it to go, like say, into my hand.

I got mine in the first wave. It's a thing of beauty. 10ft coil hose and I can haul it all over the place. Built a "T" for two guns. I like the weight of the pneumatic guns vs my m18 guns. Really like this thing. I've even used it to run a coil nailer to fix a customer's fence, though it was great for a repair, I wouldn't build a fence with it.

Perhaps you can set the pressure to max and connect an external regulator if you need to switch between tools? I was considering a cordless inflator, but all of them need a 20 minute cool down period after 5 or 10 minutes of use. Additionally, none of them were any good at filling truck tires. For me this will be my home and traveling inflator for all tires and rafts. It will also serve as a quick, quiet and convenient compressor for small/light nailing jobs. Got a Paslode for big projects.

If you want to fill tires a vair 450 I think is the biggest one meant for rv tires works wonders

too expensive at $350 for the bare tool. Better off with the flexvolt compressor. The kit with the fast charger and 6Ah battery retail at $300 and can be found much cheaper frequently. It's also 2.5 gallons compared to the 2 gallons here.

Hi Vince,

The video doesn't do justice on the noise leave. This milwaukee m18 cordless air compressor is quiet. I used it on a large fence project with a long back yard. I had to use my pneumatic crown stapler. It's awsome, i didn't have to roll out a 100 ft extension cord. This tool already paid itself off and made me money in one project. People got to remember these tools are mostly used on jobsite to make you MONEY... Not to sit in your garage to have a cool tool. This way no one needs to complain about the cost. Go make money with the tools already.

Don't get me wrong it's pretty pricey for now. Remember it's a new tool rollout. If you are not going to use it as much then just wait for a sale. You know it's going to happen, LOL...

Thanks for the video

I just got this milwaukee compressor. Im a general contractor and do work orders and repairs for real estate companies. I most do small jobs and repairs and not huge projects. This will come in very handy doing trim. Or even my palm nailer when I need to utt a nail in a tight spot. In my profession it will come in very handy.

I think they may have realized that pneumatic nailers are smaller, lighter, infinitely more adjustable with air pressure, have much less moving parts, and cost half as much as lithium nailers. I'm sure losing the hose has it's benefits - like Richard and his crown installations. Great review and I will stick to air for driving fasteners.

My understanding is although not always the case, 'standard' db measurement is at 1 meter distance.

it would be pretty cool if they could improve this design and go with a rotary screw type compressor and a 3 gal carbon fiber tank that would reach over 200 Psi and kick the compressor on around 150psi that way you could run the unit far longer for larger devices . Maybe reach 3- 4 cfm

hey how about that bleeder valve by the side of the gauge and pressure selector? Is that what you're supposed to use in order the change the pressure?

Excellent review. It would be great to see a gen 2 with a battery/ corded option. Cheers from Texas!

I would like this if they made a "battery to wall" adapter so you don't have to worry about the battery die-ing and it's still about the same performance.
batt to wall: aka battery looking package but with "prongs" for an extension cord
