This talk reminded me of when I took the three refuges and five precepts at my temple. On that day I was also given my dharma name. The temple I go to is Vietnamese and the name I was given was Tri An. My teacher gave this name to me with the intention that I develop both wisdom and peace as I continue to practice. She knows I have an easy time to memorize things and learn a lot, but that I struggle more with finding peace and calm. I got myself into many stupid situations by thinking I was smart enough to handle it when I couldn't. So I took refuge to help me be a better person and commit to my temple. Thank you for all that you do, Venerable Tri Dao.
