My uncle was a priest in the Springfield/Cape Girardeau diocese in Missouri. He had a very good priest friend from Columbia, Illinois.
Fr. Weissler's mother passed away when he was a young lad leaving his father to raise him and 4 siblings. Ever night they prayed to their Guardian Angels in German. Father's devotion to his Guardian Angel continued throughout his life.
When he passed away, we attended his funeral at Immaculate Conception in Columbia, IL, his sister -- Sr. Joan Weissler (a member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Ruma, IL) -- repeated the story of Father's dedication to his angel.
The beautiful part of the story is that Father Weissler passed away on the Feast of the Archangels --September 29, and his Funeral Mass and burial was celebrated on October 2 --the Memorial of the Guardian Angels. Maybe coincidental but I think it was his reward and a faith moment for the rest of us. BTW: There was a luncheon after the burial service. As we walked to the entrance of the school, there was a beautiful statue of a Guardian Angel outside the doors.

On the way to work, I was thanking God in my car for answered prayers. I thought about Fr. Chris’ mom and my eyes got a bit watery. I can see him sitting on the couch giving g her a kiss on the cheek. That was just the sweetest, besides the miracle of healing. 🕊🕊🙏🏽❤️

I recite the St. Michael the Archangel prayer every morning and prayer to my Guardian angel, thanking him and also ask that the Guardian angles keep watch over my children, grand & great grandchildren.
