Plumbers POV | Fixing a New Water Heater that Won’t Heat

The control valve on this heater had gone bad after just a year. I swapped it out under warranty from the manufacturer. This was a control valve and burner replacement. I also added a ball valve since the unit didn’t have one, replaced the t&p drain since it was Pex and installed a proper size gas flex line. I’ve bid to re do the gas in this house, so the flex line is supposed to be temporary.
If you’re curious of the story more behind this job I made a short about it, you can see it on my channel.

I just got one of these water heaters installed at my home when our old one went caput. What's your thoughts on it? Is it reliable? Easy to work with the manufacturer on warranty repairs? Idk what else to really ask. Share whatever you can, please. Thanks!

@Plumb Hero. Thanks for the full length video. The grunts aand struggles are real.

Question. When you switched out the gas water heater control valve does that need a total drain of the tank or did you just hydro lock?
Thanks
