RO systems are great, and ROI on them is pretty quick if your buying water by the gallon from your grocery, and the quality of the water is better than what you buy also. I'm a licensed water treatment plant operator, if people knew what was in their water .... I installed an APEC six stage system under our kitchen sink a year ago and the water from it is fantastic. I wouldn't let my wife drink tap water or our dogs. This is the way to go. You are doing a great service showing people how to do this, and don't forget that there are smaller systems that can be installed under a kitchen sink, not complicated at all. You put out a lot of good content, thanks!

Very tidy job, wish everyone took that much pride in their work.

Gotta have the water running and then look for that pressure drop, with no water running the line will be equalised. Nice video.

That’s a nice RO system Pat! You must have one heck of a plumbing distributor 😎

Nice and clean install too. As everything is! I’m going to try to redo lots in my mechanical room and your instruction on everything is very helpful!

Another superb video Pat. I'm about to install an RO system once I get my softener and carbon filter installed. You answered one of the questions I had, which was I want to put it down in my basement and set the filter unit & storage tank on a shelf, but its a decent distance away from my kitchen sink. So you're okay with running 75 feet away. I guess if everything is at line pressure, it doesn't matter the distance. My house is all copper, but for this application, I might do exactly what you did and convert to PEX B coming out of the unit. I've always been a little concerned about the pressure drops with PEX B but you don't seem to have an issue with it. Do you oversize your lines by one size to account for the pressure drop at the fittings?

That was a clean install, as all your installs are. Great stuff. Can't wait to see your bathroom remodel this summer! Cheers as always!

Great video, thanks for the detailed install. I am installing the same system myself for my new acreage build as well, but will be just feeding the fridge drinking station/ice maker, everything else is just filtered by whole house FAK filter. Great information here. I got mine mounted in the attic since I can't run new lines from my utility room without lots of destruction, and plan on feeding the recirc water down the line that goes to the kitchen. I have two options, feed it 10+ feet in front of the RO system, or 10+ feet down from the RO system. Feeding 10 feet down would be preferred, but not sure how that works....will it just inject that water into a pressurized line...even thought there is nowhere for it to go technically? I'm in Alberta as well :D

Are you suppose to check pressure in the bladder of the storage tank?

There’s a line from the filter unit into the storage tank, but no line out of the tank to supply the faucet? Is the air bladder you mentioned providing pressure to push the water out of the tank to the faucet?

Is it OK for the pex to be exposed because it does not get "direct line of sight" sun exposure?

Should put the RO under the sink to supply JUST better drinking water . 3.5 gallons per day can't give adequate supply for ANYthing else (3 GpM, 60 times as much as RO . Why use the RO for anything else?)
The first two filtration would have been better if added as 20" x 4.5 at same location as your first sediment filter (bigger is better).
(My system is a five stage and plan is to add an RO under sink eventually)

Stupid question but how come you're keeping an outdated counter and sink, why not upgrade those prior to adding such an accessory. your timing doesn't make sense to me stranger!
