Sweep Picking Cascading Arpeggios - Great phrasing idea for your solos! - Jazz Guitar Lesson
Показать описание
Sweep picking in Jazz is often used to play cascading arpeggios - upper-structure chords.
One of the best ways to quickly play Arpeggios is to use Sweep Picking. In jazz we mostly use 3 smaller one octave arpeggio sweeps, often placed on 2 or 3 strings. In the lesson I will demonstrate some cascading arpeggio licks and some sweep picking exercises to help you make your own sweep picking licks.
In this jazz guitar lesson I am going to go over a concept behind creating cascading arpeggio type lines like the lick play in the beginning of the video. They are a great way to use different arpeggios over a chord and add some interesting rhythms to your lines.
It's also the way that I mostly use sweep picking because that's a way that works better for jazz type lines.
These exercises will not only help your sweep technique but also help you get a better overview of the diatonic chords and triads in a major scale and on the neck! And you can from here easily move it over to the melodic minor and harmonic minor scales.
