Is Yinlin good in off-element teams? 【Wuthering Waves】

to help cope with how i got spooked, i wanted to find out a rough idea of how yinlin's damage contribution stacked up compared to a support like sanhua. so, thus began my many sleepless nights of spreadsheeting until 4 am...

TLDR: Total damage potential (potential is the keyword here) at S0 is very similar, but Yinlin has an easier time reaching said potential due to her large AOE.

Also, this comparison was made with using an Encore + Sanhua team comp, but several other teamcomps share a similar damage spread & buffer combo, such as Lingyang + Sanhua, or Jiyan + Mortefi; however, a Havoc comp would definitely have a different calculation, but on that note, I'll be working on Havoc stuff soon !!

The day after Yinlin released, I was like, "yeah, I'm going to do some quick math and get a video out for her today" then proceeded to work on the calculator until 4 AM, then 4 AM again on the next day, and then I was editing and fixing things until 6 AM last night. Needless to say, I think it took me a BIT longer than expected. But, I hope this info is useful nonetheless!

Also if it wasn't clear, yes, this is a comparison with ENCORE. Things may differ in other off element teams, but I imagine this should give some relative ballpark of what to expect. Before I did the math, it was really unclear if Yinlin would be like, a HUGE upgrade or not over a support - turns out, the difference is not as big as I thought!

Finally, the content we've all been needing: GRAPHS AND MATH! I am using F.Spectro rover right now as my damage dealer, with havoc waiting on the ever elusive echo xp to level up that set. I usually swap her and Encore around in the team depending on which boss I'm going to farm (where is the crit rate/damage mephis and hell rider?)

Yinlin/Encore is only great if you have great swapping skills, as both shine in those scenarios, and if you know their correct rotations so building outros is very fast. The good thing with quick swapping there is you'll end up with basically permanently full concerto, but it's definitely not for everyone at all.

Basically, don't pair them together unless you are willing to be in pain for a long time.
