Thanks Scott! Now Im a real dummie when it comes to sidearms and this IS the way to teach a dummie or any beginner. In every other video you just see "grip like this or this, and just throw it like this". The DETAILS ARE WHAT MATTER, and we have them here! 🙂

Ok Scott I am blown away! Not only does this build on the great “throw a ball - don’t serve pizza” advice, but it helps reinforce that motion.

I just went out and shot a round trying out two new discs and forehands only and I didn’t roll my wrist once!

Hybrid grip is best for me. Pads on rim + plate offer good grip with consistent release of disc off pads. Just gotta monitor the wrist roll tendency like you say. Awesome video Scott.

I still serve the pizza 400ft accurately. I'm "double jointed" hyper mobile. I have wayyyy more power in my pizza flick 🤷‍♂️

Strange. My fix was to go to 45 degress. I was rolling when I had my fingertips only out and not up at all. Not sure this is good advice for hyzerflips and long distance. You lose a ton of stability. Seems like an anhyzer only angle. For reference I throw 67mph and 430+ feet forehand.

From my brief experience playing the game both of those tips will make me roll my wrist even more. If I stand sideways and keep my palm to the sky I throw 350 - 400 ft bombs 😅

Great video could you make one for backhand as well i struggle to throw hyzer. So I'm left backhand trying to throw on hyzer but struggle to keep the disc from turning up at release to anhzyer and turns into roller? Is their fix for this?

I also see a lot of newer players trying to force over an averstable disc on forehand, this is also a big cause of rolling the wrist. I guess they dont realize an understable disc whenthrown flat will give them that bit of natural turn without having to force the disc over so much on anhyzer so it has room to fade back.

What about thumb placement?
Bringing it away from the wing and towards the middle grants better releases but less power.
For short upshots/runs to the pin, I do find palm up allows for more precision.

I see this teaching frequently and it makes sense, but when I actually go to grip a disc I literally can't do it. I can rest the disc on my fingers so that the pads are pushing against the inside of the rim, but the moment I grip the disc, and apply pressure with my thumb, the disc tilts up and my fingers are angled roughly 45 degrees instead of entirely against the inside of the rim. Is my hand shaped oddly? Am I missing something really obvious? I literally cannot grip the disc with enough pressure to throw it and have my fingers in the right direction.

Wrist-rolling is the backhand rounding mistake of the forehand.
