African Cichlids in a 55 Gallon Tank

I get a lot of questions from viewers about what type of African Cichlids they can keep in a 55 gallon tank or 40 gallon breeder. Here is my recommendations and an explanation why.

You guys who do these great YouTube video clips do realize that new people find your videos at different times, not everyone has been watching you guys from the beginning or go back to other prior videos and comments. Most people don’t have the time to view every video, everything and sometimes people forget what they’ve seen. There Definitely has been the trend of youtubers getting kind of curt with questions in their chats. Most realize not all questions in a chat can be answered. Love the video i prefer the 55 gallon over 40 length height and it got enough width make the 55 a better community tank as long as your fish don't grow over 10 inches

I got a 55 gallon tank before I knew what kind of fish I wanted...I fell in love with the MBUNA African cichlids and was able to find some for sale at my local feed store in town..one my questions is regarding decoration...I have a big ship in the middle of the tank and small rocks and caves on each side..the fish seem to like the small caves and absolutely love the ship..however, every video I find on here shows to only decorate with rocks or caves and sand instead of gravel...should I change the décor or leave it be? another question, I currently have 3 albino zebra, 1 cobalt blue zebra, 1yellow electric, 1 peach zebra all about 4 inches and also 1 bumblebee, 1 blue electric and 1 yellow auratus all three about 1 inch...is this a good match?...I am new to all of this ..thanks for your help..

Hey i have a tank of 39 inch length, height 18 inch and width 15-15.5 inches .. i was planning to get mbunas but can i go with peacock chiclids?? Like 10-12 if im not breeding them?

I tried to do a Bichardi & Leleupi setup in my 55gal. Once they all started to mature that 55 was way too small. Even the 75 I got was pushing it once I added the rocks, caves and plants. Everyone should start with a 125 just to be safe. 😁

I'm wondering at what point will a fish be stunted from being in a small tank? When I move fish from my 55 to my 180 they seem to grow a lot faster.

Off topic but in my 55 I have 1 angelfish, 12 neon tetras, 5 platys, and 1 bristlenose. Can i get any more?

I have found all your videos so helpful. Im limited due to space but what would be better for yellow labs and maingano's... A 40 breeder or a 55? I know the 40 actually has more surface space while the 55 is taller. Which one do you think would be better? And how many can I stock in it? And last question... If they're juveniles, how long can I keep them in the tank before having to upgrade them to a larger tank? Thank you so much!
