The Most Dangerous Islands in the World

Islands are supposed to be sunny, peaceful, and warm - exotic locales where you spend time on the beach, maybe do a bit of snorkeling, and even enjoy a few fruity drinks. Except sometimes, none of that happens.

The world sports many deceptively beautiful islands, ones that look pleasant but are actually terrifying. From former nuclear test sites to places that are home to deadly creatures, these scary isles have more going on than we realized. And we wanted to know more.

We found out what people who've been to 10 of the most dangerous islands in the world said about them, and were left ready to just stay home. Vote up the islands you will most definitely take a hard pass on, too.

tbh I'm shocked that North Sentinel Island's clear boundaries have been respected into the modern era considering how many indigenous people and cultures have been lost to colonization, but at the same time that shit always starts with friendly gifts and visits, and they've made it clear they aren't interested in anything cute from any of us. I kind of love that for them.

Fun fact concerning Bikini Atoll.
The developer of the swimwear actually named it after the island because he wanted to give the same impression with his product as watching a nuclear explosion.

The TV show Ghost Adventures was able to get on Poveglia. Hearing Zac try to communicate in Italian while wearing a plague mask was a sight to behold.

North Sentinel Island sounds like a lovely place, beautiful views, interesting people and the food is to die for.

We love your channel (and Weird Food History). We're just trying to wrap our head around 1:36 where you're describing automating a lighthouse and the video is of a beer can filling line...

This is why I sit here in my room, under a blanket, holding a baseball bat all day long.

I gotta say something, I personally think that the guy that does the VO for these videos should do ASMR, VA and audio reading cause this has a terrific voice! Seriously he can go a long way with that awesome voice of his.

The most dangerous place I’ve ever visited is Romford in Essex, I barely got out of there alive

x 1:26 I was set to be a Lighthouse Keeper at Detour Reef Lighthouse in Michigan around 2011 but my car broke down and I had no reasonable way to get there and come back in time for my job.

What an incredible experience that will be when I do go there!

Most dangerous places I've been: We lived in Turkey during the late 1950s when my Dad was in the Air Force. He was told to vary his route to work daily due to snipers in the hills. Another time, we were told to stay in our house due to some government official attempting to leave the country by way of the road in front of our house, because there might be shooting! Not very comforting at all! Kind of surprised families of were allowed to go there.

I loved the way you spelled the Brazilian island, as if we spoke French 😂😂😂😂

I would love to see a dive into Kwajalein Atoll. My father worked there in the early 70s.

7:53 My older brother swam in a jellyfish lake called Jellyfish Lake in Palau.

He said that it was like swimming in a mass of jellyfish.
