Being dark skin as a woman is tough. You even have the darkest men bashing your same dark skin

On paper, people normally say “Black is Beautiful” but in reality, the story is not always the same.

Everyone says it doesn't matter how dark your skin looks but knowing or unknowingly they still perfer white skin over dark.... Been through this and still I am

I love my dark skin but I hate the way society try’s to make me feel like my skin color is a bad thing. 😂for me I got three kids, a good career, and a loving spouse. Meanwhile the others who hate on my dark skin are still looking for those things 😂😅love y’all and stay dark! 👊🏿

“ i was the only black angel walking in the street and I was proud of it “
All Black people should have this mentality.

Most annoying thing is your relatives who are picky and judgmental will say " you don't look like ur grandma/mom/sister" or "why are u not like pretty like ur sister, mom etc.

If a dark or dusky skinned person is born in India she or he will have to face colourism and racism till the day of dying....
Example- Me and millions of people

I’m so thankful that I found this video. When I was young, I was so insecure with my pretty brown skin. I often wished my skin would magically become white when I become older. I saw no one talking about colorism so I thought I was crazy for being insecure about my skin color. When I watched this video for the first time when I was 15, I cried. This helped me learn more about the racist history colorism came from and showed me I was never alone. Thank you ❤️

Dark-skinned people of all ethnicities, keep your head held high and don't be afraid to shine. As my dad always told me when I was a little girl, "You are magic and your skin is divine."

I'm Blasian (Black and Korean). I always got talked abou because of my skin color. But my mom always told me "The darker the coal, the brighter it burns." She says it means that I stand out and I'm able to shine brighter than anyone else.

I can totally relate..I remember when I was about 6 or something, some ladies used to tell my mom to apply some raw milk on my face...though my mother never did that..but soon after bullied from teachers, relatives, classmates I started using raw milk..but nothing happened...in class 8-9 I tried almost every home remedies to get a fairer skin tone because all my friends, my cousins have fairer skin tone...but ended up ruining my face with pimples, scars.. I was always told that being fair is equal to being beautiful..even I broke the mirror because I hated myself so much...but now I'm thankful for whatever I have... Every complexion is a gift from God ❤️

This made me cry. We’re all made perfect before our first breath. We’re getting it, it’s a beautiful thing.

This message speaks to me and gives me the confidence I’ve much been needing lately 😔
I was born in China, and due to being born in the south, I’m naturally a little darker than other east asians I’ve met and ones that I’ve seen portrayed in media, which are typically shown as being quite fair skinned. Because of that, I’ve been feeling insecure about myself but I’m slowly coming to realize my worth and how society doesn’t need to tell me how to look
(However, no matter how much I know my self worth, subconsciously I still feel like I’m letting others down)

Edit: Not trying to say that everyone born in the south of a country is automatically darker skin toned, since your skin is decided by your genetics. My main point is skin doesn’t matter when it comes to how much you are worth. 💕

What’s up with western people wanting to be dark skinned and eastern people wanting to have light skin? Wtf

If you wanna feel insecure about dark skin, come to South Asia, I've been told to put fair and lovely on my face to make myself lighter, ever since I was small

In the Philippines, if you have dark skin, people will treat you fine (just fine lol) but if you have a light skin, they will treat you like a special person, and would also love to be friends with you. It's kinda sad tho
