Why I Decided to Stand Up for Myself

UPDATE: This was filmed before the "Milly" videos resurfaced. During my time on the channel, I didn't know much about the puppet or the series. I am absolutely disgusted by the content in these videos and know that I made the right decision to leave the channel.

The fact that they didn’t respond to your concern about the death threats seals it for me.
Feels like they wanted to seem like they support the cause without having to speak about it themselves because they would receive backlash. You can’t use the voice of marginalized groups without standing with them. You have to follow through.
I unfollowed all their channels. To put it in perspective, I didn’t unfollow them for the whole “react” thing.

Shocking what has transpired over the past 2 days. I’m still in shock. I’ve been watching the React for at least 4-5 years and to see what has occurred is heartbreaking.
Thank you standing up Kennedy. Sometimes it just takes one voice to usher in change and spark a revolution and that is what you’ve done. Intentional or not. You have sparked the conversation from within that organization and to see so many present and past staff and reactors speak and public sky support you is amazing. The channel will suffer and won’t be the same. Alberto, Kaelyn, Tori, Eric, Faith, Marhly just to name a few that won’t be there anymore will have a lasting impact. This is amazing and makes me proud to see a black voice make a difference and not be malicious but just speaking out on their experience and turmoil with the company.

I went to this video straight from your InstaStory. I actually did NOT need to watch it as your reaction and the tons of Twitter posts by (mostly ex, or at last NOW ex) FBE reactors and staff on Twitter and elsewhere speak for themselves. You are a legend Kennedy (yeah, I know big words, but really), you started an uprising against a channel which is much loved, but mainly due to their lies it seems. As an OG fan (think Shrek is Love, Five Nights etc) of FBE I’ve been watching the quality fall and while watching Staff Reacts of FBE2 also learning about my favorite staff quitting. Or a fellow reactor I loved (don’t want to call her out but OG fans know) having some sort of breakdown which made us concerned. Now in just 24h I learned all this is connected. The nice cool editor, the reactor breakdown etc, all have one cause. Systemic racism and bullying. And sadly FBE reacted badly. The defensive apology just to blackface is a joke and by now 90 percent of my favorite reactors have quit, so FBE got what was coming, you sow the wind, you reap the storm. Justice, Karma. You started an insanely positive thing Kennedy, and you have my everlasting respect. Kudos!

I've never really followed FBE very closely, I know essentially nothing about the channel or how it works, and I don't really know the people on it. I've only really seen the react videos, usually either because they were trending, or just as videos that played after a trending one. I'm sad to hear that there's been stuff like this going on behind the scenes. Thank you for speaking out on this, I really hope that your statement will lead to real and sustained change at FBE. And commend you for the bravery you're showing in taking this stand for what's right. I hope that things get better as soon as possible for all POC and that all the terrible injustice against black and brown people that has for so long continued to happen is stopped and that true equality is eventually achieved for all people on this planet. There's still so much to do to make this world a better place. But I hope my generation is able to finally be the change they want to see in the world and that we all can make a long term difference.

I am simply a fan that enjoyed watching you all react and I had wondered why there were no new videos.

This breaks my heart for all the reactors and staff that have gone through things that one would think in the year 2020 would be long gone.

I will no longer support any of the channels that they run because their actions do speak louder than their words and this isn’t the first time they’ve found themselves in such positions it seems.
