In this Defence Tech feature, we tell you about the Make in India, T-90 Tank (Arjun) Crew Gunnery Simulator that's made by an Indian technology company, Zen technologies.

The T-90 Tank simulators are used to train raw recruits and commanders of the 66th Armoured Regiment of the Indian army that uses T-90 Tanks.

The simulator uses 3D CGI-based scenarios to train the Indian troops in battling tanks forces of the enemy. It also recreates tough environmental conditions like day, night, wind, fog, clouds and snow. The simulator is so real to the actual T-90 tank that it creates a recoil effect similar to the real thing with the help of a motion sensing platform.

The simulator is helpful as to train tank gunners is not a very economical affair. A lot of tax payers money is spent in real life training. With simulators like these, basic training and skill enhancement can be done in a very economical way.

The Indian Army has simulators like these so that the tank gunners and increase their skill levels and learn from their mistakes.
