its an interesting idea, but it seems a little overkill when you could just get a foldable bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo and a case with a kickstand for a Steamdeck or Ally X. one of the biggest benefits of a handheld gaming pc is being able to just toss it in a smaller sling bag instead of carrying a bag big enough for a full laptop. this is like carrying an extremely barebones Chromebook just to use as an external monitor

If you're gonna do this just get a laptop and an Xbox controller you'll get better performance for the same price

Guys don't get brainwashed into thinking you need this tf, just take a moment and take a step back, at this point you literally just have a laptop why would you want to plug your handheld into that instead of just having a slim laptop capable of playing games, if anything your addition plug in device should be a portable laptop battery bank come on now. real accessories are something like XR glasses, and a foldable blue tooth keyboard. don't forget the real reason for these handheld devices is the portability you're not trying to go back to what already exist.

This might be a decent solution for a monitor + keyboard for the occasional times you have to troubleshoot a server.

Something like this but with an e-gpu built under the keyboard with an oculink connection would be brilliant. The design quality would need to be more contemporary though.

I think the idea of this Laptop-dock isn't bad for someone that hasn't much budget. Like, if you have just a phone with DEX or Desktop mode and want to use it as PC for work, this dock is maybe a good choice for both is portability, the all-around necessity and also the price because you can get everything in one dock, monitor, keyboard, and trackpad.

Yeah or I just use my gaming laptop with a hitbox or Xbox controller. Therefore I bought a gaming laptop. Not a pc handheld. ☮️

Meh, i don't see the appeal honestly. The idea is nice but if you go for this you might as well get a 30 or 40 series laptop. At home i got a dock with keyboard and mouse on monitor. On the go or if i quickly need to fix something when using the ROG hooked up to the tv i got a foldable keyboard+trackpad combo that easily fits in a tomtoc bag with the Ally and controller.

At one point I was thinking about getting a steamdeck (for Linux testing), a Mac Mini (for MacOS testing) and a UPerfect X lapdock. I already have gaming laptop so I can do development on Windows. With all of them I can get some work done in a cafe (Mac Mini do require outlet though) or can travel abroad and do some work while attending Tokyo Game Show for example.

All the plan went out of the window when my company delayed the salary payment for 8 months straight lol. I quit the comapany and now I'm not even part of gaming industry anymore. ***sigh***

Interesting how things like this will do. I memba something like this for cellphones to convert them to a Chromebook type of laptop, but it did not do too hot

I like this for the tablet a lot. I wonder if it works on a Samsung Android tablet the way it works on your iPad.
