To bring your ENTIRE family to someone else’s house while they are going through postpartum will always be a no for me.

The mental image of you crouching and running beneath the camera in different hats is so funny to me 😂

“I wasn’t even sure what I was saying yes to.” This is why INFORMED CONSENT is important!!! 👌🏼

It started out so strong, so inspirational, so Sisterhood, then defended down, down, down!! Good, strong boundaries!!

Aw geez it was so close to being a yes. Who would bring kids over to help with a baby? And then add alcohol?? You can do without it for an hour Jim!!!

It still shocks me how many people don’t understand that just *being around other people* is exhausting for many

My mom passed during Covid lockdown the day they said I could see her after 2 years. I was in bed for a good three days grieving. My mother in law came over to “help”. I got out of bed to get food and go back to bed on day 2 and she said “well I would have cleaned for you but you’re cleaning supplies aren’t the best”. Thanks, I’m going back to bed now.

Thank you for describing my MIL in a way I never could - I need this video (and more plz like it!!) to show my bf how his mother manipulates everything and everyone under the guise of being “kind” and “sweet”. It’s worst kind of manipulation to deal with cause it is so fake and hurtful, especially when they don’t respect boundaries 💔💔💔

My husband runs his side business out of our house. So after giving birth I knew I was gonna have people in and out. But my man is a rock, and made sure they stayed far away from me and our babies. They got in and out, and I never had to host unless I felt like it ❤

Already the fast talking and not giving a *real* opportunity to say “no” makes her a nuisance rather than a help, but bringing more uninvited people over would annoy me at the best of times, not to mention in this situation 🙄
Glad she was able to firmly restate the NO at the end.

Okay I know this maybe wasn't the point of the video but good for her for saying no when she did realise the situation instead of letting this happen because it's awkward or hard to say no. Boundaries are so important

The offer would be awesome if the Tagalongs weren’t included. They make it a HELL NO in my book.

And “How’s the downstairs?”?!?!! Ewww. You don’t joke like that.

If you want to do something nice clean before they get home, leave a home cooked meal in the freezer with heating instructions, a DoorDash gift card on the counter, a welcome momma and baby gift (do not expect a thank you) and high tail it before they get home!!! See how this assumes you know the person well enough to have a key to their house and their permission to be there. I usually offer to feed pets/walk them and bam no worries family we love you.

I dont even have kids, but if someone just showed up like that after a rough day, it would be a hell no, so rude.

this happened to me except they came with their FOUR kids and no offers of help and then got offended when I took my baby and locked the door.

Good God that behavior is worse than illegal. Surprises are awful in regular life, but postpartum plural intruders? I think the stand your ground rule applies here
