Really nice to see the build up of this great image. I like your clear explanation of the materials, all without nonsense. Keep up the great work.

I like the term "visually stimulating." One day I'll be able to paint loose and impressionistic but today I'm still a bit too tight. That's okay though, it's part of my artistic journey.

I just bought oil pastels and followed along with your tutorial. All your tips about blending and using contrasting colors were just enough to help make my first pair a success! Can’t wait to keep going with this medium!

This was awesome and your tips were great! You sold me on mixed media! I’ll stop being such an oil pastel purist and stop fighting to get skinny tree branches in the distance with a thick oil pastel. I loved the hints about throwing in opposite shades to make a color richer, too. It really does work.

This picture came out really nice, I especially like the lemon "stained glass" slice

Your picture of the lemons made with oil pastels is beautiful! I usually use soft pastels, and was a bit puzzled at how to use oil pastels. Seeing you make this beautiful picture really helped. Thanks!

All of the lemons are quite pretty, but the center one really glows. Gorgeous!

I've tried oil pastels many times and could never get it to work for me. I even have some Senelier's thinking a better pastel would be the trick. Not sure why I never thought that a mixed media approach might be the way to go. Thanks for the great ideas. Great painting.

First time pastel user. I'm checking out different tutorials. Ur tip about using colored pencils is 🔥. I've been getting frustrated with my projects when I can't keep/get sharper lines. I had almost succumbed to believing I was only going to do impressionist art with the pastels. 😆
Thanks!

Your lemons turned out so lovely. Did your finger hurt blending the oil pastels out on the sanded surface? Do you prefer to use your fingers to blend them or those tools?

I like exploding colours and using their base colours- so jnstead of using green to shade an area i would use blue over the yellow and when i blend it turns green.
Ki d of the same way you use the compliment to make a neutral. ❤ loved watching this! ❤
