You asked: What is the most difficult part of publishing books on Amazon? For me it's been the disconnect between the sales and the sales reports. I firmly believe I have more paperback sales than I see in the reports. For instance, an acquaintance ordered ten copies in one order and had them shipped to me to be signed. I know that these ten copies exist because I have physically held them in my hands. However, there is no single day order during the time period she ordered showing a ten copy sale. The most copies I show in my sales report for the week she ordered is one order of five. There's one day with four sold and another two days with two each day. (yes, these are modest numbers but I'm happy to be selling a few each day)

I expected to see at least one day during the week with at least ten copies sold, but it's not there. Yet the books exist. I have persistent doubts that all sales are being reported, at least not in a timely manner. And I wonder what else may be shipping but not reported in my sales report?

The actual experience of formatting, proofing, uploading and so forth is straightforward, thanks in part to watching a lot of your videos. It's the sales reporting experience that I'm uncomfortable with. Unless we can trust the numbers Amazon is reporting to us, how can we know if our efforts at SEO work or not?

Do the 7 keyword lines affect each other? If you have surfing on one line, and California in another, is it indexed as surfing California, or California surfing, or nothing?

DALE, My question is in choosing keywords, or strings - 10, 000 hits for a keyword is too broad to use for an ebook, people say lower than 1, 000 is “ideal”- (Reddit buddies). What range is IDEAL ~ IF there even is such a thing?

I subbed, thanks for the tips - didn't know about amazon central, will definitely look in to that. Its interesting, I always look at reviews from product in amazon and outside amazon before i buy -> but never look into ''verified buys'' or ''upvoted ones'' I focus purely on the context what they say on the product.

in non fiction book i think its easier to be more specific . But in historical romance niche i found that it is more difficult for example i want to publish my first e book lets say with a title highlander 's broken heart. But When search the keyword "highlander" there are thousand of results so i think my book will be above 200.000 rank.
What can i do in this case?
