I have one of these since 2018 been using it for 3ds Max and I can confidently say it's a must have and it's actually pretty easy to use I got used it in just a few hours.

There is an amazing thing with Cinema 4D is when the cursor is on an object you move the camera around that object, how to achive that with a 3D mouse?

Hi! I have to say I love your tutorials! Thanks for all of them! I have a colleague that has one of this but I don't know if I should buy it because it's another thing to be dependent of :D.
Seeing how fluid it it got me to think it would be very useful to animate the camera movements. Do you think there's a way to record its movement in C4D?

Is there a way to record the camera move you make on the 3d mouse as keyframes on the c4d camera object?

Ok. Let’s get real here. I’m a 10+ year 3d connection user. The last 3 c4d versions made the device absolutely useless. Tbh 3d connexxion and maxon need to get their fucking shit together.

I know you're trying to promote the product, but honestly, at best it comes off as if you don't really know how to navigate the viewport properly and at worst, seems completely disingenuous.
Cinema 4D's navigation is by default set to cursor mode, which essentially gives you precise controls based on the position of your cursor.
2:07 - You're not suppose to dolly your camera using the scroll wheel, or GOD forbid the stupid little icon in the upper right corner. You're suppose to use ALT + Right Click and drag. That way you move as far and as precise as you want.
2:20 - Rotating around that object is a pain? You literally just position your cursor on the object you want to orbit around, press ALT and then click and drag. Whatever you put your cursor on, it will pin it to its surface and orbit around that point in space.

Just in case you've had the misfortune of not learning C4D navigation in the appropriate mode, you can make sure it's correctly set to "Cursor Mode" by going into the viewport at "Cameras" > "Navigation" then "Cursor Mode"

I've contemplated getting one of those things as well, but it's expensive and makes absolutely no sense to use it over a conventional mouse. Considering how many software I have to juggle and how precise and quick I have to be in all of the UI's, it makes no sense to keep jerking the hand from mouse to 3d mouse or from it to the keyboard. I would much rather advise people to get a Wacom Tablet over that thing, at least it's a decent pointing device. Just make sure to have "Graphics Tablet" checked in the "Input Devices" tab in "Preferences".
