Winston Churchill had a keen interest in eliminating Adolf Hitler during World War II. One notable plan was Operation Foxley, devised by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) in 1944. The plan involved assassinating Hitler during one of his regular visits to the Berghof, his Bavarian mountain retreat. The SOE identified potential weak points in Hitler's security and proposed using a sniper to carry out the assassination.
