Private industry has been able to do more in the past couple of years than what government agencies have in a decade.

I'm very glad Blue Origin exists. SpaceX doesn't have a monopoly on the industry. But guys, you may want to remove the feather from the rocket. It made the rocket look like the rocket nearly got burnt to a crisp.

You guys really need to stop comparing this to the Falcon 9 FT, it is nothing like it.

I so love watching all of this.

This and the Falcon 1st stage that landed belong in the National Air and Space Museum along with the Bell X1 and SpaceShipOne.

I think some people on this thread are forgetting that space is a VERY big place. Big enough for two, and certainly for more. The real goal is to have everyone up there.

Congrats Blue!

Congratulations to Blue Origin I wish them further success as well as SpaceX I hope they both do well. I wish there were 100 more rocket companies doing the same thing not just one or two.

A lot of people are downplaying this saying the rocket never got in to orbit. Be that as it may this craft is still an absolute pioneer in it's own class. True this isn't comparable with the SpaceX boosters but as of yet the Shepard is the only craft capable of doing what it does. And it does that job admirably. I have nothing but enthusiasm for Blue Origin and I hope their future spacecraft become ever more capable.

It's people like this that will push the human race forward.
This is awesome because now it's going to make traveling into space easier on cost.
Keep it up!!!

Humans...2 different teams achieve something amazing, and still, in which i would think is a pretty smart community, its still like kindergarten ."mines bigger then yours" spacex is better blablabla. cant we just enjoy for a second that 2 rockets flew very high, landed, and then one did it again !??!?! this one might enable even me one day to see earth from way up there, something spacex will never do for me. they will do other amazing stuff.
guys seriously, the next commentator to write some bullshit comparison should have his brain examined, the part responsible for joy and amazement is damaged...

But there's no point of going to space if you don't go to orbit, since otherwise you won't *stay* in space. There's nothing remarkable about going up. It's just like being in an airplane, albeit higher. But going really fast to the side gets you to orbit, and that is much, much harder.
