These lenses are great for shooting videos and photos with a Canon RF camera, and they offer high quality at a budget-friendly price. There are still a lot of manual focus lenses for RF that TTArtisan and Laowa among many others are making. For example theres the cheap $100 TTArtisan 50mm f/2 lens

You can always use an RF-EF adaptor and use tons of lenses with RF mount. I really don't ınderstand those who move away from Canon because of the RF issue. There is not such thing. And most of the EF lenses are even cheaper and better than the so called Sony 3rd party lens options!

I really like using the TTArtisan 50mm f2 on my Canon EOS RP. I got mine used from B&H for $55 in February, The shots have the vintage look which I love. I don't mind shooting manual. I also don't plan on switching to Sony or other brand anytime soon as I have acquired many canon lenses over the years that I can still use on my R series cameras by using an adapter.

I hope you can do more videos about the canon rf mount cameras. I bought the vision lineup of these lenses and absolutely love them 🥰 I am by no means an expert and just doing this as a hobby but I really enjoy shooting with them and learning new things about cinematography. It’s a shame that the mount is not open to third party lenses for autofocus but I’m still enjoying my R7 immensely and have found a new love for shooting in manual ☺️ like someone else said I’d love to see a review of the Meike lenses as well. Cheers!

Great stuff as always! I’m looking at the 50mm version from this set for myself. I’m doing my own research as well, but is there a such thing as a “budget” cine zoom lens that would be roughly equivalent to a 24-70mm for the RF mount?

Hello. Thanks for your hard work! I have a question. Can we mix together the vision and spectrum lenses? I know vision are S35 and spectrum FF, but did the adjustment rings are at the same distance on both syatem? I asked it, because the vision series don't have an 85mm or longer focal and the spectrum don't have a 24mm. So my idea was to use a 14mm spectrum with a 24 and 35 vision and a 50 + 85 spectrum. Do you think it's a good idea or better to move far away from this? Thanks for your time. Have a nice day.

Manual focus cinema lenses require dedication, which may not be worth it.

We had recently opportunity to try full frame 8K RED rig with multiple ZEISS' primes on workshop, our conclusion after days with it was that although great even for "word class" material, bunch of R5(C)s with standard autofocus RF optics will be much more manageable, arguably with even better final results.

I've been trying to talk myself into cinema lenses for a couple of years now, but my problem is the lack of mount contacts. Canon has literally the best manual focus aide out there and great ibis, but I have no idea if they work without contacts... and I'm not prepared to eat a lens for a test. It's time for Cinema lenses to step their game up and get body contact info... and they can do this without raising the cost of their ridiculously overpriced products.

Hello!
I have a question, between the 7artisans and the dulens, which one would you choose for wedding videos?
Thank you very much for your attention and response.

I am making the jump to a full frame and will be getting the Canon R8. Moving on from the Canon R50 with the Nisi 9mm f/2.8 lens. This lens fits on the R8 but it's too wide on a full frame and even though it's been a work horse of a lens shooting real estate for about a year now, it has some issues. Like vignetting and distortion which my editors have been able to correct 95% of the time. However, the video panning warping cannot be corrected. What would be the best lens for the R8 shooting real estate photos and videos? Thanks in advance.

Hey Mark. I am getting into photography (mostly portrait & everyday shots), which of would you recommend: Canon M50 MK II with 18-150mm lens or Canon R50 18-45mm kit Lens?

The battery situation is a much bigger issue than the lens situation. The battery in my RP is practically the same as in my Fuji X cameras which are cheap as chips, except Canon moved the contacts and they've put some software in them so 3rd party batteries don't work properly. Oh, and then Canon charge £45 for a genuine battery that cost them peanuts. Canon is the new Apple.
