Hey, I do nails for about two years now and please do not use any gel that needs uv on an opaque nail press on! The gel is super dangerous when uncured as the uv light can’t penetrate through the nail press on due to it being opaque. You can try those very sheer but transparent nail tips from brands like après which is safe if done properly. Uncured gel can lead to a gel allergy which will affect your ability to have other gel included services if you get the allergy. Stay safe!

Hey love, for gel to 100% cure, the nail needs to be clear so the UV can penetrate. You can get what is called contact dermatitis from uncured glue. Once it appears, it never fully goes away💔

Do not use gel as glue for colored press on or designs. It makes it impossible to fully cure underneath your nail plate. You might accidentally develop a severe skin allergy to gel over time. Nail Glue and sticky tabs will do perfectly fine as long as you prep which is “ the scratching of the nail” and to also dehydrate with alcohol as it bonds better”

Hey you’re not supposed to use gel glue with solid color press on nails. They need to be clear or very transparent so the light can get through a cure all the gel. If not you could develop contact dermatitis and not be able to use gel at all

I stay FAR away from gel glue with press ons. Standard nail glue works wonders IF 👏 YOU 👏 PROFESSIONALLY 👏 PREP. Nails have to be ULTRA clean(I literally scrub them with dish soap and clean with alcohol before applying), push and cut them cuticles back, and scuff up the surface of the nails so the glue adheres better. I regularly get 3+ weeks out of press ons. My last set was 3 days shy of a full month and only one was peeling up. Giving your hands and nails a deep moisturizing treatment and minimum 24hrs to breathe between sets also helps.

Girl with opaque nails. You shouldn't use gel glue because can't cure all the way thru the solid color. Can cause contact dermatitis and or cause you to become allergic to gel because it's not cured all the way. You can use gel glue tho if the press on are see thru color where your nail bed is. The nails are very cute tho and with press ons that are opaque use nail glue and the ones that are see thru ish can use gel glue. Just wanted to tell you that and maybe other comments have already but just in case I wanted to tell you anyways. We have your best interest at heart! 💖🙂 There are lots of vids on YouTube that will help you learn more to be able to have beautiful nails at home for much less. That's how I leaned. Don’t use the gel glue u can get contact dermatitis and it is a gel allergy caused by under cured gel underneath you nails your can only use the gel on really translucent nude nails or cleat ines

The buffing of your nails is yes supposed to "scratch" them cause it helps the glue adhere better and gets int those scratches to give thay extra HOLD. I personally also etch (you can buff too) the inside of the fake nails so it gives it and even extra HOLD on to those nails and yours. Hope that explains more about it for you. And Im yes that UV light makes a world of difference when using uv glue boo 😉💙💜😂 Love that we can laugh about it. You are still killin it💙💜

it’s super unsafe to use any type of gel underneath opaque tips. You gotta use standard glue or start with clear tips and add the design after. A lot of people are doing this, so don’t feel bad. I just don’t want you to end up in the hospital with contact dermatitis

just a heads up with that technique your doing curing the gel under the nails if the nails are opaque instead of translucent that can actually give you contact dermatitis bc the light cant fully cure the gel through the nails.

Yes! buffing does scratch up the nail but it creates an abrasive surface for the glue to stick better, ultimately making the nails last longer
