Stranger On The Shore

When I was 7years old my dad brought me home a cornet and I joined the same local brass band with him. Three or four years later I was 'moved up' to solo cornet and the conductor bought this piece of music for me to play the solo in with the rest of the band to play. I was in the band from 7 yrs until 18/19 when I moved away from home. I haven't heard this piece of music since then and it's brought back so many very, very happy memories of growing up playing in concerts and contests. I remember I went with the band on a (very long) trip to London to march in protest at Thatcher closing down all the mines. I played this many times and loved it. Thank you so much for posting this!!! One of my favourite films of all time is Brassed Off with the amazing Pete Postlethwaite but then it had to be be really didn't it! 😃
