Atrial septal defects

This is an introductory talk on ASDs.

I did not want to confuse the audience, but it's worth noting that in very advanced disease, or if pulmonary pressures increase for any reason, the shunt direction will reverse and become right to left. Classically, this is accompanied with hypoxia that does not improve with supplemental oxygen therapy.
