US network CBS News is facing heavy backlash after being accused of conducting a "grotesque" edit on Kamala Harris's "lengthy" response to a question on Israel, in its "60 Minutes" interview that the network aired on October 7. Critics say that CBS did this in order to portray Harris in a more favourable light. We explain in this edition of Truth or Fake.

The host of this program can't even come out and say directly that 60 Minutes edited the answers - "not completely untrue". What kind of a chicken little response is that? How about a "yes, 60 Minutes edited the answer."

You kept using the word edit. This was more than an edit. An edit is when you take something longer and shorten it. in this case 60 minutes and CBS actually inserted part of a response to another question in the interview. France 24 should’ve included this in their report and not just kept using the word edit.

I'm sure they'll say it was a 'mistake'. That's what media companies do, these days. Do something dishonest, then apologize in a tweet that hardly anyone will read.
