As of October 2024, *Zacian, Zamazenta* and the *Galarian Birds* are no longer event restricted, since you can obtain them in Pokémon Go (Zacian and Zamazenta from raids, Galarian Birds from daily incense).

One super unique way of hunting I'd like to add is hunting for Johto Pokemon in Gen 1!
Due to the way GF programmed the Gen 1 games, it's actually possible to find and shiny hunt any Johto Pokemon (except Celebi) in the Gen 1 games! One of the most obscure ways to shiny hunt imo.

5:54 wrong actually. That’s only for normal Mass Outbreaks. Massive Mass Outbreaks have significantly worse shiny rates

Quick note on the ultra wormhole shinies, only the standard Pokémon in wormholes have boosted shiny rates, and whether they are shiny or not is set the moment you enter so you can’t soft reset encounters, the legendaries on the other hand are at full odds for the generation and are determined upon encounter so they can be soft reset for.
