I used to be in that position for 5 years, and when the relationship suddenly ended, I couldn't understand why. I was actually in this situation a few weeks ago. I really liked this guy, like more than liked but he kept telling me he wasn’t ready. But he’d always come to me and ask for advice about the girl he liked and telling me how she would always ghost him and let him down. I soon realized that he was just using me as a crutch after he got hurt by this other girl. And I kept telling myself “no no he’s just not ready for a relationship” when in reality it was that he wanted both of us. Her to love on, and me to be the one who put him back together after she broke him.
