Big help for me. I am new to auto diagnosis and am trying to learn. I learned today that you can't assume that a fuse is bad if it doesn't pass your test light test. Some fuses only work when the key is on. I learned that here. Thank you.

Oz thank you for sharing your knowledge to help others. Great video. Can you tell a DIY how to get a print out of a 2017 Dodge Caravan? I have a fuse that intermittently blows on left tail light. Would like to track down if I can. Thanks for your video!

Can tell they drove it like that for a while before the wire rubbed through and shorted out. Great job on showing the diagnostic approach. Show people how it's really done. Yes the damage is obvious but you still have to go through the process. Showing people the right way will save them from making the wrong call. This isn't just about finding the short, it's about teaching people the right way to find one. Good job, Bravo.

Easiest way to all fuses is using a multimeter set to ohms(beep) go across each on if it beeps its good. Cut off that pig tail and make a test light, next time use the pig tail test light, remove bad fuse and install pig tail, it will be lit if you have a short to ground, then start unplugging connectors if light goes out your on the right path.

Hey Oz, you can also use a 12 volt test light instead of the fuse if you got a helper, if not use a 12 volt buzzer instead of the fuse. As long as the short is there the light will be lit or the buzzer will buzz. Then you can unplug connectors, and wiggle wires etc until you find where the short is.

Of all the videos I've searched on how to find a shorted circuit in my truck, yours I understand. Ihave a question though _ my fuse doesn't blow until I put the vehicle into gear. I.E. my ECC1 fuse, is lit on both ides, with ignition on, using the same probe to test it., I'm thinking to continue as you did, knowingits the fuse that pops.

Does anyone know if the inside cabin fuses should light up test light when done this way ? They don't and pretty much checked them all . The fuses under the steering wheel inside cabin and yes, I've tested it to make sure it works including checking the fuses under the hood in the engine compartment and those light up .
