This tutorial will teach you how to use Voice Control on any Mac running Mac OS Catalina or later. This accessibility feature allows anyone to control their Mac using only their voice. This class focuses on the most important aspects of how to navigate your Mac and we're even going to create a few custom commands to help make things even easier.

I'd like to acknowledge that this feature wouldn't be possible without the hard work of Sarah Herrlinger, Global Accessibility Chief at Apple.👍

As someone who recently broke both wrists in a motorcycling accident, but is still responsible for his graduate thesis, I think you deeply for producing this video.

Thank you so much for this video! As someone with a hand disability, and I've been trying to learn this on Catalina for a year now, I was finally able to get access to the phrases I needed to make this useful. Your video is so well presented, I like the heads up on the commercials and really enjoyed the content and learning. So much gratitude, thank you thank you thank you!

I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It is greatly affecting my hands, and my ability to type comfortably. As it's only going to get worse, I decided to learn how to control my Mac early, while I still have some hand mobility. Thank you for this video.

Great tutorial! Thanks for the concise instructions. Another use case for voicecontrol is for people like me with RSI. It is a boon for my aching wrists.

I can’t help wondering who the people are who thumb down your excellent videos. I would like to volunteer as their therapist.

Thanks for the pdf David. I looked all over for that. Apple should have done that.

Thank you so much! This is the most informative video on voice control. I have MS and use voice control all the time. Nobody ever explain why Siri doesn't work with Voice control. I am very grateful and looking forward to learn all the new information.
I cannot figure out how to use drag commands.

Thanks so much for this tutorial. I use VoiceOver so much on my iPad and it is great to see how it works on a Mac. I have quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy as well as 4 vision impairments. VoiceOver is also great for having books and documents read out.

Super useful video, thank you so much! Thank you, too, for not putting the pdf behind an email input requirement. I really appreciate that. I find those really irritating and often just navigate away.

Thx for the help.

After hours looking around I found this helper for easily making VoiceOver flick through next/previous paragraphs on a macbookpro laptops.
By default, the VO-Shift-Page Up/Down are the needed shortcuts. But on a macbookpro that involves using the additional Fn key by default Arrow), because there's no default PageUp/Down keys on macbookpro laptops.

I found the following workaround:
**Keyboard Commander**
Keyboard Commander allows you to configure custom keyboard shortcuts to perform VoiceOver commands, run scripts, and open apps, eliminating the need to locate them manually and thus greatly streamlining your workflow. Commands can be configured in **VoiceOver Utility > Commanders > Keyboard Commander**.

By default, commands for opening Mail and Safari and running scripts for announcing the date and time and the number of unread Mail messages are included. For more information, check out this AppleVis podcast.

Would be great if you could make a video about the Keyboard Commander.
Showing how to assing a single key to the 'Read next Paragraph' and 'Read previous paragraph' commands (or any other VoiceOver commands).
So that one only need to press a single key per command!

Thanks again. Take care and be well!
