Safety Razors simply give a better shave, less skin irritation too

The very last scene in the video, the person was shaving with a straight razor; which is not a cartridge razor and not a safety razor.

A safety razor can give a more comfortable shave, every bit as close (or closer) as a cartridge, with proper technique. You must be willing to invest in yourself to reap the benefits a safety razor can offer, which are many. Begin with a mild DE razor such as a Merkur 34c, Edwin Jagger DE89, vintage Gillette Tech or Super Speed. Also purchase a sample pack of blades, find which one works best for you. Once your technique has been established (figure three or four shaves) if the razor takes too many passes to clear your stubble then consider a more aggressive razor like the Muhle R41 or an adjustable safety razor. Eventually you'll find the safety razor to be superior to cartridges in many ways.

Safety razors are by far, the best option. Better shave and much much cheaper

For convenience and speed cartridges. Safety razors for those who shave as a "hobby".

Why switch in my case?

I never had ingrown hair or irritation 🤷🏻‍♂️ and I simply don't buy the claim that cutting the hair slightly UNDER the skin level will deliver a LESS smooth shave than the DE cut AT skin level.

If cost is the only advantage left for me, then why switch? A hundred dollars more a year are worth the greater convenience, for me.

It would be different if the DE shave were ACTUALLY smoother than the cartridge, but I simply don't buy that, sorry 🤷🏻‍♂️
